International crisis has consequences on Newspapers'life

Today, the press in the USA knows an important crisis. So, how to explain the crisis’scause? And what are the consequences of this crisis for press in America?
The international crisis could be a cause of newspaper's problems. Banks can not give them loans and it’s difficult for them to endure with their own resources. Elsewhere, the media group Tribune, which is owner of the prestigious Chicago Daily Tribune and Los Angeles Times, announced last week that it had placed under the protection of the bankruptcy law. So, it seems that even the big newspapers companies are touched by this crisis. For instance, the New York Times, is badly affected by this crisis, and it has taken out a loan of 225 billions dollars making a mortgage about its headquarter from Manhattan. Therefore, to save money and to go on living, statistics shows us that American press has dismissed 15.400 people in 2008. Moreover, a lot of local newspapers dismiss in first foreign reporters. Is it the solution in order to reduce newspapers cost? So, if there would be less and less information about regional and local news, press would be really smaller and readers would not have an access about news of country. This issue looks like as a censure in the United States!

Therefore writing press in the United States is really touched by international crisis and by increase of internet using. Newspapers should be optimistic in order to overcome the issue. Press should be more attractive for readers who prefer to find news on internet cause of their purchase’s decrease. Newspapers should be patient.
